Winged Keel Group’s Strategic Expansion

In a strategic move, US-based insurance firm Winged Keel Group has successfully acquired the MBW Group, a company situated in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a strong foothold in life insurance planning. Although the financial terms of the deal have not been made public, this acquisition marks a significant expansion for Winged Keel.

Established in 1975, MBW Group has built a reputation for delivering expert life insurance solutions, particularly tailored for affluent families and business proprietors. Eric Naison-Phillips, CEO of Winged Keel, commented, “MBW Group has a rich legacy of addressing the exclusive needs of the ultra-high-net-worth segment in Minneapolis and the broader Midwest region.”

New Office and Leadership in Minneapolis

Alongside the acquisition, Winged Keel has inaugurated a new office in Minneapolis. This office will be steered by principals Jeffery Bird and David Wischmeier.

  • Jeffery Bird: With a career that commenced as a tax attorney and advanced life insurance underwriter, Bird is acclaimed for crafting wealth transfer and income tax planning strategies through innovative life insurance solutions.
  • David Wischmeier: Prior to joining MBW Group, Wischmeier practiced law and brings over two decades of experience in structuring life insurance solutions aimed at wealth transfer and income tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and enterprises.
