Vortex Insurance Enhances Hurricane Protection Program

In a significant development, Vortex Insurance, a leader in parametric weather insurance, has broadened its innovative hurricane insurance offering. This expansion now includes comprehensive coverage across all hurricane categories, from 1 through 5, specifically targeting businesses situated along the vulnerable Gulf and Atlantic coastlines.

Key features of this enhanced program include instantaneous payouts with no deductibles, ensuring swift financial relief for businesses. Coverage limits have been elevated to up to $1 million, with the option for even higher amounts through consultation with Vortex agents or insurance producers.

This pioneering coverage is designed to address the shortcomings often observed in traditional property insurance. Vortex Supplemental Hurricane Insurance empowers businesses to define their coverage areas—either a single 30-mile radius or dual 30/60-mile radii. Should a hurricane’s path intersect with these designated zones, the policy is activated, triggering a payout.

The insurance policy is tailored to cover a broad spectrum of financial losses, including but not limited to flood, storm surge, wind damage, and business interruptions. It offers flexible trigger conditions and allows for multiple payouts within the same year if more than one hurricane affects the covered area, adhering to policy limits.

This hurricane insurance is part of Vortex’s expansive suite of parametric weather insurance solutions, which also encompasses coverage for sporting events, concerts, fairs, golf tournaments, and seasonal attractions.

Andy Klaus, the Vice President of Business Development at Vortex, emphasized the value of this expansion, stating, “This enhancement brings genuine peace of mind to businesses in hurricane-prone regions. Our insurance can mitigate increased deductibles, and cover any financial loss due to floods, storm surges, wind, or business interruptions. Utilizing real-time data, we ensure that checks are dispatched in under 30 days—precisely when businesses require support the most.”
