Simon Smith Joins The Clear Group as Group Chief Operating Officer
The Clear Group, a leading insurance brokerage, has proudly announced the appointment of Simon Smith as their new Group Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this pivotal role, Smith will have oversight over several critical areas, including Operations, IT and Data, Integrations, Claims, as well as Facilities and Procurement. By collaborating with business leaders, Smith aims to ensure that Clear continues to provide exceptional value to its stakeholders and customers while pushing forward with strategic initiatives.
This appointment comes as Simon Smith steps into the shoes of Phil Williams, who transitioned to the role of Group Chief Commercial Officer and Retail MD of Clear Insurance Management Ltd in November 2024. Smith will join the executive board, playing a crucial role in achieving the company’s strategic objectives.
Prior to joining Clear, Smith was part of Swiss Re as Managing Director, where he focused on Group Technology, Operations, and Efficiency over a span of four years. His extensive experience also includes a tenure as Group COO at MS&AD Insurance Group and significant leadership roles at Willis Towers Watson for a decade, along with 12 years at GE Capital.
