Skyward Specialty Welcomes New General Counsel
Skyward Specialty, a specialist in property and casualty (P&C) insurance, has proudly announced the appointment of Patricia Ryan as its new General Counsel, commencing on April 1st, 2025. This transition follows the forthcoming retirement of Leslie Shaunty, the long-serving General Counsel of Skyward Specialty, who is set to retire after nearly 12 years of devoted service to the company.
In an effort to ensure a smooth transition, Shaunty will remain with the company through the end of 2025 in a supportive and transitional role. Ryan, with more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, is well-equipped to take on her new responsibilities. Her career has been marked by a vast array of experiences in legal facets such as compliance and regulatory matters, corporate governance, enterprise risk management, securities, as well as products and contract law.
Ryan has previously held senior legal positions such as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at notable organizations including Trean Insurance Group, HDI Global, QBE North America, and Allianz/Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. Prior to her insurance career, she spent over a decade in private legal practice.
