Leadership Changes Announced at WorldTrips

Based in Houston, Texas, Tokio Marine HCC has unveiled a significant leadership transition at its subsidiary, WorldTrips, a prominent travel insurance provider. This change will be effective from July 1, 2025.

Mark Carney, who has been at the helm as CEO of WorldTrips, is set to become the chairman. In his new role, Carney will focus on steering the company’s strategic direction and bolstering its long-term goals. “Mark’s leadership has been pivotal to WorldTrips’ growth and resilience,” commented Susan Rivera, CEO of Tokio Marine HCC. She added, “Under his guidance, the company adeptly navigated unprecedented challenges, such as the global pandemic, and recently launched our Cayman Islands insurance operation, setting WorldTrips up for enhanced flexibility and scalability in the future.”

Philip Hsia: The New CEO

Stepping into the role of CEO at WorldTrips is Philip Hsia. Since 2018, Hsia has been at the forefront of managing Tokio Marine HCC’s Global Travel Group, including WorldTrips. Rivera expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I am equally thrilled to welcome Philip Hsia as WorldTrips’ next CEO. Phil brings with him a wealth of strategic and managerial acumen coupled with a global outlook. He has our full confidence as he assumes this pivotal role.”

This leadership transition comes as a result of a succession planning process initiated earlier this year. Based in Carmel, Indiana, WorldTrips specializes in providing travel medical and trip protection insurance products to travelers around the globe. The company operates under the umbrella of the Tokio Marine HCC group of companies.
