The UK P&I Club, a leading provider of protection and indemnity insurance, along with other services for the global shipping industry, has announced significant changes in the leadership of its Athens and London offices.
Sean Geraghty is set to return to the London office in April, assuming the position of Claims Operations Director. This comes after his successful tenure as Regional Director for Greece, which lasted over two years. In his new capacity, Geraghty will be at the forefront of developing the Club’s global claims initiatives. He will collaborate closely with senior leaders to enhance claims operations and spearhead improvements in processes and service delivery.
Philip Clacy will take on the role of Regional Director for Greece, marking his return to the Piraeus office after a 15-year period in London. Clacy will continue to offer exceptional support to UK Club members in Greece while maintaining his global responsibilities for the Club’s services.
Andrew Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of UK P&I, remarked, “We are excited to welcome Sean back to the London office in his new role as Claims Operations Director. Under his leadership in Greece, our team has been strengthened, and a dedicated regional service model has been established, offering unrivaled support to our Members and brokers.”
“Equally, we are thrilled that Philip Clacy will be returning to Greece as Regional Director. His previous experience in Greece, combined with his global operational expertise, will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build and advance the strongest P&I team in Athens,” Taylor added.
Clacy commented, “Piraeus remains a vital hub with its unique characteristics and close-knit community, while the broader Greek maritime industry is unmatched. It is crucial that the Club offers services and relationships that mirror the market’s vibrancy. I look forward to returning to Athens to rekindle old connections and forge new ones, guiding our team in Greece to new heights.”
Geraghty added, “Working with our Members in Greece over the past couple of years has been a privilege. I am now eager to collaborate with the leadership to ensure we have the advanced operational infrastructure needed to keep our global network of claims specialists as the top choice for outstanding service and value.”
