Eric Andersen’s Transition at Aon PLC

Eric Andersen has announced his decision to step down from his role as President of Aon PLC. He will transition to a new position as a senior adviser to the company’s CEO, Greg Case, and will officially depart from the organization in June 2026. This development was disclosed by the brokerage on Monday.

Leadership Changes

As part of this transition, Greg Case will take over the responsibilities previously held by Mr. Andersen, assuming the title of President. This shift is part of a series of leadership changes at Aon. Last year, it was announced that Christa Davies, the company’s then Chief Financial Officer, would step down to become a senior adviser, with plans to retire this year.

Eric Andersen’s Tenure and Contributions

Eric Andersen has dedicated 28 years to Aon, ascending to the role of co-president in 2018 alongside Michael O’Connor. The duo assumed joint leadership from Mr. Case. In 2020, Mr. Andersen took on the sole presidency following Mr. O’Connor’s departure. Throughout his career at Aon, Mr. Andersen has held numerous senior positions, including leadership of financial services, U.S. retail brokerage operations, and the reinsurance brokerage unit.

Speculations and Future Plans

When Mr. Andersen was appointed president five years ago, it sparked speculation regarding his potential as a successor to Mr. Case as CEO. However, Aon extended Mr. Case’s contract to 2028, suggesting continuity under his leadership.

Upcoming Changes and Appointments

In a related development, Aon recently announced that Michael Neller will transition from his role as Chief Accounting Officer and Global Controller to a new position as Deputy Global Chief People Officer, focusing on total rewards and talent development. Aon is actively searching for a new chief accounting officer and global controller to fill the vacancy.
