Digitalization of Insurance Agencies: Embracing AI and Data-Driven Solutions

The ‘Digitalization of Agencies, Business Conduct, Meeting with Artificial Intelligence Information Panel’, spearheaded by the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) 40th Group (Insurance) Vocational Committee, received remarkable attention from industry professionals. During the ‘Future of Agencies and Digitalization’ session, AXA Turkey’s CEO Yavuz Ölken highlighted the strategic significance of digital transformation in the insurance sector and the myriad opportunities it affords agencies.

The panel, moderated by Süleyman Özer, featured esteemed participants such as Neslihan Neciboğlu, General Manager of Neova Sigorta, alongside Yavuz Ölken. In his address, Ölken emphasized that data-driven transformation is becoming increasingly decisive in all aspects of insurance operations. He asserted that agency growth hinges on building a robust customer data warehouse and converting this data into actionable insights.

Understanding Customers: The Key to Growth

Yavuz Ölken underscored the importance of accurately managing customer expectations and behaviors in today’s rapidly digitalizing business landscape, stating, “We must implement digital transformation and establish a comprehensive database to effectively manage customer expectations and behavioral economics. Successful portfolio management on the path to growth is predicated on digital transformation. Without an increase in the number of policies per customer, achieving growth will pose significant challenges.”

Ölken further remarked that sustainable growth is unattainable without a customer-centric approach and the robust data infrastructure facilitated by digitalization. He noted that simplification and efficiency are achievable only through the adoption of digital solutions.

Portfolio Management through Data and Empathy

Ölken emphasized the necessity of being present across all channels preferred by customers, stating, “We must be accessible through every medium our customers wish to use.” He stressed that investing in digital solutions for cost optimization and sustainability has become imperative. Ölken concluded by stating, “Artificial intelligence will enhance our lives during this transformation. As we look toward 2030 and beyond, we must recognize that these opportunities are closer than they seem. Big data and AI will illuminate new opportunities and gaps; we cannot afford to overlook them. To thrive, we must embrace digital transformation without being paralyzed by potential threats.”
